Inspiradas por un concierto de Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs, en 1966 apareció en Long Island el grupo Act IV. Integrado por Missy Wolcott (teclado), Peg Porter (bajo/guitarra), Sandy Klee-Phillips (batería) y Fran DiCicco (bajo), después se transformaría en The Enchanted Forest y lanzarían los sencillos The Word Is Love, I'm Not That Kind Of Girl, Cold Winds y You're Never Gonna Get My Lovin'.
